The Gurzi Wedding

I'm not really someone who shoots weddings, but when your good friend asks you to, then you have no choice but to say yes. The wedding was held in the historic silver mining of town Virginia City, Nevada, and I can honestly say that it was one of the best and most unique weddings that I have ever been too. So I finally got a new 5D mark II. I'm really excited about this camera and have been wanting it for quite some time. The very shoot I did with it was in the pouring rain with singer/actress Jennilee Reyes. It was kind of a bold move seeing how i got the camera and was already taking it in the rain. it worked out well though.

Photography has completely consumed my life this month. No that it's a bad, but sometimes it a very tiring thing.

I love fashion week, fashion month, whatever the fuck they are calling it now. Who doesn't enjoy free booze and beautiful people. Those may be two of my most favorite things, especially when they are all around my neighborhood. You better believe I'll be catching a free cocktail at some fancy after party that I weaseled my way into.

There is nothing better than receiving free product in the mail from companies that like your photography. It's almost like being sponsored by designers. The other day I received a whole box of mens underwear from a new company called New Captain. (http://www.newcaptainco.com/) They make some pretty cool stuff. Hopefully they like the photos I shoot for them and they want to fly me out to Brazil, Which there has been talk of. Also in the mail I am waiting to receive all the new Paola Robba swimsuits to shoot with too. I absolutely can't wait for that. It makes taking photos easy when you have product to shoot.

So I like to shoot something and be creatively productive at least once a week. This shoot was just that. We pulled some nice stuff but only ended up using one of this seasons Paola Robba swim suit, a jacket that my friend left at my house and some fresh new Ashbury shades. The entire team on this photo did a great job, I definitely couldn't have done it without Edin, Sunnie, and mary beth.

So this weekend I had a photoshoot all planned out. With a hair stylist, Makeup artists, and a wardrobe stylist, But right at the last minute our model bailed out. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but thanks to Coachella everyone was out of town. I searched frantically to find a new girl to shoot but to no avail. It wasn't until 3am or so that Olivia called me and said that she could make the call time of 11:00am the following morning.

that's great! We found a Model. Unfortunately at 3am I was already well on my way to being black out drunk thinking we weren't going to shoot, and shortly forgot about any responsibilities I had the next morning.

Waking up at noon with the model at my house that I had completely forgot about and no one else here to hair or makeup looked really bad on my part and made me feel very unprofessional. keep in mind everyone had a call time and I didn't tell anyone that we weren't shooting. The makeup artist bailed and hair didn't show up. The stylist was on call so she was here right when I called her. With a few quick phone calls I replaced hair and makeup and we were on our way to shoot. Granted we were a few hours behind schedule everything somehow worked itself out.

This was good lesson for me. No matter how well things are put together, sometimes things just weren't meant to be.

and for the record the model wasn't exactly what I had in mind when putting this shoot together but she was so awesome and lively making for some great photos.

Phone Sexcapades!

So this may seem immature and kind of dumb. Or It might just be one of things where you have to be there to appreciate the quick responses and ridiculousness of it. So let me explain. When we are sitting at home bored and drunk my friend will call into this phone sex hotline where it is free for girls to talk to guys while the guys have to pay for it (sucks for them), and to make a long story short we like to call in and fuck with them. This is some footage of my friend Jen having fun with it.

So I have found that if I am recording what I do while I retouch, I actually keep focused on what I am doing, and don't get lost in the internet so much when I should be doing work.

I shot some promo photos on Friday for this girl and had to go through and retouch a bunch. This was just a quick edit and I know there are a lot mistakes. I have tried to go through and fix a few since this. ( like the building distortion. ) These little videos make it fun to edit, for now anyways, and keep me sane while doing so.

So this is pretty much what I do for my day job. I shoot about 25 pieces of clothing every single day for a distribution company. Most of the photos are cheesy, lame and shot as quick as possible in all natural light, at a ridiculously high ISO. This one was no different. I thought it might make a good black and white, So why not right? I don't really like shooting photos like this for work, but I do like that I get to shoot photos everyday for work, if that makes sense.

Glenn Weatherson has been doing an ongoing video blog ( over the past 60 days) that involves himself filming each one of his days as he sits at home bored on house arrest. The Videos are fun, comical, entertaining and very well put together. This is one of the better video blogs I have kept up with on the internet and very highly recommend going through and watching them starting at day 1, Maybe even donate some money to him for his ridiculous house arrest fees. I feel that today is the most exciting day cause believe it or not, it is day 59 and I absolutely can't wait to see the day 60 video. As sad as it to see the videos stop after tomorrow, it will be good knowing that Glenn will no longer be on house arrest.

So as I was flipping through blogs today and I came across these Christian Louboutin shoes that have a striking resemblance to the vans that I purchased just the other day. Shape and stitching are very similar, too similar if you ask me. It's one thing for smaller companies to be ripping off designs but come on Louboutin! You're better than that. Stick to making Stilettos you ass hole.

So Believe it or not I get paid to sit around and not do shit all day, and when I say shit I mean I half ass photoshop some half ass photos and lurk the internet the entire time I do it. Not a bad gig huh? Today I used my new found friend screenflow and recorded a couple hours of my work day and jam packed it into a quick 2 minute movie. I really enjoy making these fast paced screen recorded movies. I'm not really good at video editing and things such as this so it's fun for me.

Doing Laundry is a dangerous sport

So after an amazing Saturday at the smash party (The best party I have ever been to in my entire life). I decided to pass out early so I could have a nice productive Sunday. I woke up, started cleaning, did my laundry and that was all that I did. You wanna know why? cause when I went to go get my Laundry out of the dryer everyone had left my house leaving me locked out. The building office is closed on Sundays so I was up shit creek with no phone. Lucky for me I had my wallet on me. So I threw on some fresh jeans and started walking down the street in my slippers. I found a nice place that sold Vans right near my house so I bought em, and threw my crip slips away then proceeded walking towards the Metro.

These be the fresh new kicks I copped on my adventures today.

So moving on, I made it all the way to West Hollywood and kicked it with Jen at her work and had some sushi while I waited for my roommates to get home. It wasn't that bad but it still sucked and I wasn't productive at all with my day due to it.

I found this before and after photo of Madona on "The Cut" earlier today and I absolutely love it. This goes to show how magical of a tool photoshop can be. Even though I think that this photo is over photoshop it's still cool to see. It's even better cause people are pissed about this being online. All I have have to say to that is, who fucking cares. This woman is old as dirt and if you think that she always looks like the after photo then you are on rocks.

So this Saturday I found out about a couple pretty awesome things doing on around my neighborhood.

The first being a huge 500-1,000 person pillow fight in the middle of a public park. You have to be kidding me!! THis looks like so much fun! I couldn't find a flyer for it but it is Saturday April 4th at 3PM in Pershing Square right down town on 6th and Hill (yay! walking distance from my house!)

Vincent Gallo

So last night after hanging out at the studio with Jared and Jen we decided to go down the street to the Biscuit lofts where Jen has her recording studio. Upon arriving to the her studio Jens older brother and non other than Vincent Gallo are standing out side hanging out. (apparently they are friends). Being a Huge Buffalo 66 fan, this was a pretty cool person to be meeting. He seemed to talk and act just as you would expect him to, a little snarky, repetitive, witty, funny, and actually really nice in a conceited kind of way. He even some how made a reference to his own movie in the little time that we talking to him. I'm thinking he just wanted to make sure we knew who he was.
He went on to tell us how he enjoys cooking, and keeps a pretty strict raw food diet and has an enormous love for exotic meats. Such as a specialty raised RAW pork that comes in at $55 a pound or Cheetah. That right he eats fucking cheetahs, and explained it to be "a strong steak" and "very gamey". Coming from anyone else I probably would of laughed at the ridiculousness of that, but it wasn't a shocker to hear coming from him.
I wouldn't say I was star struck, but it was the first time I met a celebrity and actually had question that I wanted to ask them about their life. Like, "did you fuck Cristina Ricci?" , "Does Chloë Sevigny swallow?", or "What the fuck was going through your head when you made Brown Bunny?" I refrained from really asking him anything though and just enjoyed the awkwardness of his presence and the over all moment.

Jen- "Are those your stomping boots?"

Jen- "They aren't zipped up"

Being in the Elevator

Do you ever feel uncomfortable riding the elevator with other people? I think it's weird when you're in this little box with multiple people for such a short period of time. You spend to little time together to have a real conversation so you kind of just ignore them completely to avoid the awkwardness which in return creates another kind of awkwardness. Am I over thinking this? What about if you're the first one to step into the elevator and you ask the other person what floor they are on? I feel that it's such a habit to press someone else's floor button that I think I am being an asshole when I don't offer.

elevator trips are strange little moments. Fuck the elevator.

It's almost the end of the month and guess what? I'm still broke. It's a drag being broke, it really puts a damper on my party life. o worries though, I found a solution to that. I did a photo shoot last night and instead of getting paid in cash I got paid in Vodka!!! Bring on the fucking party! In exchange for photos I received and entire case of Burnettes Vodka. It's certainly not the best vodka but it got me lifted to the moon last night and I just can't wait to really start getting into that case. I did a little bit research on the Vodka and come to find out, Burnett’s Vodka uses an uncompromising production process of quadruple distillation and triple charcoal filtration to remove by-products from grain distillation. This process makes Burnett’s exceed the level of clarity, quality, and smoothness found in most other vodkas. That's strange cause it still taste like pure garbage. I'm not drinking it for the lovely flavor though, I am drinking it for one reason and one reason only, and I think everyone knows what that is. So here's to the many fun nights I am about have with my new found bottled friend.

I was also Pretty stoked on hearing that Wacom released a new pen tablet. The intuous 4. It looks so fresh and clean. I want one right now god damn it. I love them!!! The one thing that I notice though with a lot of fashion blogs is that the writers love taking photos of themselves and posting what they are wearing. Everything from the ring on their fingers to the shoes on their toes.

Well shit, if that's what it takes then I guess I should be doing that too.

Moving onto my jeans, Marc Jacobs black Skinny jeans, rockin it comando steeze, and even though you can't see them I have on all Black vans with no socks.

Right before the event I had some time shoot some photos of my lovely neighbor Angela Tafoya. I've never really felt that I was someone that should be giving advice, not because I don't have good advice to give but more or less I feel that I live to a different rhythm than most people. If I had to live and die by one thing though it would that nothing should ever be complicated. Nothing EVER!!! if you apply this to you daily life and everything you do I swear you will be an over all happy person. Lets think about how this can be applied in an everyday situation.

My favorite thing to apply this to is relationships. Is your relationship complicated? Well get the fuck out then cause it shouldn't be. He likes you, and you like her but it's just "complicated" right now. It's complicated cause he's fucking your best friend and you just don't know it. If it was meant to work it would of happened already. Things should never be complicated.

It's like a miracle diet!! It practically forces you to lose weight!! I love it!! It's such a nice feeling knowing that I just can't afford to be fat or really eat all at for that matter. What we have here is a irish car bomb cupcake. Are fucking kidding me? I can get shit faced and stuff my fatty mouth at the same time? Well count me the fuck in. This thing looks absolutely delightful.

Wait wait. I have the recipe as well.

Ingredients

Cupcake
1 cup Guinness
1 stick, plus 1 tbs unsalted butter
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 cups dark brown sugar
3/4 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 tbs vanilla extract
2 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
Frosting
1/3 C butter
1 T milk
4 C powdered sugar***
4 T Bailey's Irish Cream***
1 1/2 T Jameson Whiskey***

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350; line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
Combine the Guinness and the butter, chopped into 1-inch chunks, in a large sauce pan, and heat to melt the butter.
Remove from heat, and whisk in the cocoa and sugar.
In a bowl, whisk the sour cream and the eggs and vanilla, then add to the beer mixture.
Sift together the flour and baking soda, and fold in the batter.
Pour into muffin molds and bake or 25 minutes, or until inserted cake tester comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes, remove from muffin tin, and cool completely on a rack.
Allow butter to reach near room temperature then cream at high speed with an electric mixer.
Add in milk and 1 cup of the powdered sugar to create a wet and thick mixture.
Add in the remaining liquids and mix until frosting is spreadable.
*** Vary the amount of alcohol to taste.***
***More or less powdered sugar may be required to reach desired consistency.***

For all you Knife fans out there, can we take a look at how amazing Karin Dreijer is? I know these videos are a couple months old but I've been watching them almost everyday and just can't enough of this shit. For those of you that don't know Karin Dreijer, singer of The knife; has recently released a solo album going by the name Fever Ray. The CD was released in January if I'm not mistaken and I am shocked to find out how many people haven't heard it yet. I almost felt as if it was pointless to speak about cause it would have been played by now. After months of continually trying to talk to people about this new CD I figured it was only appropriate to give a little shout out.

So lets talk about my weekend.

So to make a long story short Jen and I walked into some random loft in building across the street from mine and basically met some of the coolest people I have met in a long time. It was about I found some people who live close to me that I can get wasted with, and hang out with. We got wasted, we went out, we laughed we watched strippers give each other lap dances, we let each other wear each others clothes, it's just great. It makes me smile inside.

Seeing how this is a photo blog and all and lately I have been lacking on the photos. I will post a couple up. I took these a couple weeks ago and really love how they turned out.

So I started my new job today, Whoo!!! This will be my second tax paying job ever. I don't know if that's a good thing though. Having money is a good thing though so I guess I'm okay with it. Let me tell you a bit about it.

I get to wake up every Monday through Friday and ride my bike/or drive down the street to a clothing wholesaler where I get to take photos of Sample garments that are going to be sold to other distributors. I then get to lightly photoshop these photos and prep them for the companies web site. It's definitely not the most exciting thing I have ever done but t least it involves taking photos and using photoshop so it's not a tough job, and there is a cute little asian girl that works there so that's nice.

As for good news today, I was contacted via email from a advertising agency that happened to be at that 994 gallery the other night. I emailed me to let me know that they are interested in working with me. How cool as that! Hopefully that goes through cause not having money sucks balls. I'll keep you posted about that one when I get more information on it.

I went through the Downtown Los angeles art walk last night and it had to of been one of the best art walks I've been on. There was awesome galleries that had opened, crazy street performers, bums begging for change, and more people then I have ever seen downtown at one time. There were 2 things that really made it a cool art walk though. First thing was that Mr. Cartoon opened a tattoo shop, gallery, and retail space in my building. how cool is that shit!!! Second highlight of the night was that I discovered a secret comedy club in the lofts next to mine. I some how made it in past the guest list and was able to watch the show. it was pretty hilarious. What made it even more funny was my friend Jen kept texting throughout the show and the comedians pretty much ripped her apart time after time about it. That's what you get for being drunk in the front row of a comedy show I guess.

I had a long day to today and I am fucking tired. i think I am going to take a Disco nap about now.

So Audrey was filming a commercial at my house today that I kind of helped her out with. It was for some new HD flip camera made by Sanyo I believe. We had to do a fake photo shoot as it got filmed for part of the commercial, and that's where I came in. This was a quick photo i took with my phone while everything was getting set up.

I've noticed a couple things lately that kind of piss me off.

1. Why do people open really fucking retarded retail stores? I am directly talking about this store down the street from my house that sales nothing but fake tattoos. It's so fucking dumb. There isn't even a large variety of fake tattoos, and that is the only product that they sale. There is no way in fucking hell that the store is able to make rent for a downtown LA store front just by selling rub on tribal bands. On top of that, I want to know who's fucking idea it was to open that god damn place. The only thing I can think of is it has to be a cover up for some kind of drug operation. If that's the case, then fuck yeah I'm down with it.

2. Why is it that at a lot of restaurant and café type places there are two different prices for the same meal depending on the time of day? Why is my burger $5.99 at lunch but $9.99 for the god damn same mother fucking thing at dinner time!!! What fucking ass hole told everyone that dinner was suppose to be more expensive! I want answers.

So thank you everyone that voted for me on the 944 thing. I ended up Winning the LA contest which was pretty cool. I got free booze and sushi all night. I can't really complain about that. The only thing that sucked was they merged the Los Angeles contest with the overall contest between the seven cities. So right when I won for Los Angeles I lost the over all contest 30 seconds later. It was still fun though, the girl who won was really nice and she has a hot sister that lives in LA BOOSH!!!! Winning shit is cool but it's way cooler when you actually get prizes for winning shit, like cash. That would of been nice

Also, I got a job!!!! Whoo I start tomorrow. I am going to be working at clothing manufacturer taking photos uploading them to the website and labeling garments and what not. It's nothing to special but it's a nice steady 9 to 5 and it's still beneficial to what I want to be doing. I get to learn about making clothes and design styles and I'l probably be able to pull clothes from the place for photo shoots.

So a couple of weeks ago I made these bacon chip nachos to submit to www.thisiswhyyourefat.com it sucks to say but they have yet to make it onto the site and it makes me feel as all my hard efforts making these glorious things have gone to waste.

These are nachos that contain no tortilla chips at all. Better yet the chips were replaced with crunchy strips of BACON!! Creating the Bacon Chip Nachos.

In better news i dropped off all my mounted prints off at 944 for the gallery that I am apart of tonight. I kind of messed up with the presentation of these photos where I printed my photos smaller than everyone else and used the the wrong width foam core board. I don't think it really matters though cause I know my presentation still looks really good. The contest winner is all based on online votes anyways and the people who see my work tonight have no say in if I win or not. ( so they say) Personally I think the contest is rigged and they are going to pick who they want to win regardless of online vote counts. I guess we will see how that works out for me later tonight.

So a while back I had this genius idea to make a fashion book about transgenders and pretty boys. Essentially I wanted the book to be filled with what may appear to beautiful fashionable females but at a closer glance it was all males. So we rounded up a crew of people to shoot photos and film along with it. I hope to get a documentary to come out with the book as well. here are some sample photos and video from the shoot, let me know what you think.

So I haven't been updating this thing lately and I feel really bad about it. So let me run down some shit for you. I lost my Personal assisting job due to a series of fucked up shitty events. So no more Bentleys and Lamborghinis. It's not a big deal though cause really it was kind of holding me back from what I really want to pursue. And that would be shooting photos.

So taking it back a few months ago I shot some stuff for Maxim that was published in the December issue. The photos and Add are pretty fucking cheese ball but whatever, I was published in Maxim and i was stoked on that.

This is was the add from that.

In Early December I shot some stuff for a Designer named Sambre Mochachino. Kind of a weird name if you ask me but he makes some amazing denim pieces.

Moving on through my quick rant I would like to share some of my most favorite photos that I have taken in the last six months. They are of my Good Friends Anna Estella and Audrey Kitching. The dresses were made by Anna for her line called " I feel pretty". Although their makeup is kind of out of hand and ridiculous I absolutely love how they turned out.

Along with these photos we shot some video footage to go with the shoot. I like to think it came out really well. All recording and editing was done by the very talented Dave Chritenson.

I am going to London!!!!

Things are really starting to work out for me here in LA. I am pretty content with being a personal assistant, all my bills are paid for and that's really all I need or want, but lately, Things have been even better than that. As of Monday I have a full time photography job shooting jewelry for Chris Aire. The pay isn't that great but I agreed to do it for other reasons, and I'll share those other reasons with you at another time. So the same day that he offered me the work he followed by telling me that they have a spot in London Fashion week and if they go through with the show they are going to fly me out there to take photos for them. This is huge!!! An all expenses paid trip to London? I finally feel some what accomplished as a photographer right now. They are also flying me out to New York in September to shoot some stuff for them. My life could certainly take a tun for the better real soon here.

The photos that I shot a few days ago are for a hollywood based clothing company that I shouldn't mention cause I am not even suppose to have any of these photos online until they go to print but whatever.

This shoot was pretty rad and I made so really rad connections from it that is already leading to other work. On top of meeting a super beautiful rad girl that I hopefully get to work with again in the near future. Stay tuned for the other photos after they go into publication

Last but not least, I got a new gold watch while I was in Reno.

So I've been back from Reno for over a week now, and I have no complaints. I love LA and I love what I am doing here.

I helped put together a huge charity event at my boss's house over the weekend. it was so much fun. I got to run around and take photos of old rich people getting wasted. Apparently people love getting wasted for charity, I am one of those people.

On Monday I went to the apple store to purchase a new iphone. I figured all the hype would have died down after the weekend. I was wrong about that though, I ended up waiting in line for 7 hours. The best part about that though was the free iphone igot. that's rite!!! I said free.

I go the white one, I just had to do it.

You know what the worst part about driving a Bently is? It's when you get a flat tire in downtown Beverly Hills. It's okay though cause We were only down there to pick up the White Bently. The funniest shit ever is Rolling up to the Wilshire Hotel in a tow truck with a Bently on the back only to hand them the Valet ticket to the white one sitting in their garage. I'm sure they think we deal drugs or something.

This Sunday I am taking photos with an amazing stylist. i will have those photos up shortly after so stay posted.

So I spent the Last 9 days in Lake Tahoe / Reno. With out question I partied 9 out of 9 of those days. The only real reason that I went to begin with was to tow the Lamborghini down for Sheryl. Robert and I ventured out of LA at around 3am Thursday night. We took the periwinkle blue escalade down with the Lambo behind us in the trailer.

I love Reno and here's why. I floated the river and was drunk. I participated in the black label poker run, and I was drunk, apparently Tim was too and that's probably why he ate shit riding this.

I was lucky enough to get a tattoo appointment while I was there, thank god to people canceling.

I went camping while I was there too. Camping is fucking stupid, I don't know why people drive 20 minutes away to sleep in the dirt. It's okay though cause I was drunk.
Brittany was too.

Little did I know that I didn't had to drive the black escalade back and follow Robert all the way back to LA. It took way to long, about 8 rockstars too long. A once 8 hour drive just turned into a 13 hour drive. That shit fucking sucked.

All in all I was super happy to see everyone and get to spend America day with my friends. Sinco de Julio as well.

I aslo met this girl, she can lick her own elbow. I was impressed.

So over this last weekend i went to Las Vegas for CineVegas!!!! I had a fucking blast. Between all the C-list celebrities and free Greygoose everywhere I thought it would never end.

The travel video that was made documenting our trip through europe won the $5,000 award for best video!!! That's not even the best part One of those big checks were awarded, you know, the kind that has to be cashed at one of those big banks. On top of that, none other than fuckin Wayne Brady presented it " is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?" ahahahah

The next night we made our way to the Vegas magazine party where there had to of been well over 20 open bars, needless to say I was fucked up that night. The photo of the party doesn't really show you how huge the party was but sit me down and ask me about it and I will tell you tales of wisdom and courage that raged that night

Later that night I met this gorgeous girl that was willing to let us take photos of her out in the dessert the last day I was there. She was pretty rad and I wish I could hang out with her on a regular basis. Either way I have photos of her.

The lighting in the photos of her were done with not only strobes but some expensive ass HMI lighting kits. check out the photos and let me know what you think.

Well today was a good day. I made a little bit of money and sold my friends sisters Pink special addition Vertu phone. You may not believe this but this phone retails for over $6000 and it is ugly as shit. this phone is like the albacore of tunas. hand stitched titanium body and glass made of sapphires and yet it's still not worth the retail price or the $3,000 I sold it for.

I also did a photo shoot last week to use as some sample work to show Chris Aire the celebrity jeweler. here is one of the photos from the shoot. And yes, that cross is real and cost triple what my car cost.

I am going to Vegas tomorrow for CineVegas!!!!! Can't wait.

So I recently Moved back to LA to peruse my photo career in a more serious manner. Since I have been here I haven't really done anything to crazy just worked on my portfolio a bit, and done a few odd jobs. One of them being a set photo photographer for a TV show called, "The Industry" This was one of the most unprofessional things I have done in a long long time. The Director of the show (Robert Resendez) Was highly unprepared and had everything ghetto rigged to hell and back. The Guy was using a modeling light on a shitty alien bees strobe to light his scenes for filming, it was ridiculous to say the least. On top of that he jipped me out of $100. Lesson learned I guess. He probably needs that money more than I do.

On a better note I am working as a part time personal assistant to a rather wealthy women and get to drive her nice cars around to run errands in.
